Recipes from WIC

We just starting getting WIC.. Whats WIC you ask?

WIC provides Federal grants to States for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk. The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children - better known as the WIC Program - serves to safeguard the health of low-income women, infants, & children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating, and referrals to health care. Here is a link to their site.

On WIC you recive monthly food such as the following

And a Ten dollar EBT card to spend on fruits and Veggies only.

After eating dinner at some friends house we were chatting about how my Hubby is not a fan of the natural peanut butter but has a favoite brand Peter Pan Creamy Peanut Butter, 40-Ounce Jars (Pack of 3). But how I was teaching him to eat what God gives us for free. She and her Husband laughed about all the things they did when they were on WIC. She shared one recipes with me for Cheese Straws.. I went home and made then the next day. They were yummy treats! SO I got to thinking about all the things I have made using WIC food. SO the next few post will be recipes from using our WIC food. Now although not all the ingredients are from WIC they all use a item we recive from WIC.
